Seek suppliers and partners for PV business in Tumu and clarify cooperation.

Our device is to create as much value as possible in the country itself.

In Tema (Ghana), there is a company (SPS, Strategic Power Solutions) that produces PV modules in the country itself. We have already evaluated the company and were allowed to visit the production. We have ordered and tested 50 modules for our plants in Tumu and the surrounding area. The quality is ok, although isolated defects were discovered. However, the prices are slightly higher than those of the competitors from China – but the modules are delivered free of charge to Navrongo and for a small extra charge even to Tumu.

In connection with the „SREP“ (Scale up renewable Energy Program), we also visit the Energy Commission and meet Set Mahu, the director of the government for renewable energy, at the Swiss embassy. The program is to start within a short time with return tariffs and netmetering. Through microcredits from a fund of the World Bank (CIF), 15’000 PV systems are to be promoted in the next few years – our training project is highly welcome!
